A lot of people I met and talked wish to see the border dispute be solved internationally based on treaties which were made between French (represented Cambodia) and Thailand during 1900s and international laws, including the decisions made by the International Court of Justice in 1962. It is right as bilateral talks had failed to ease the military tension at the Cambodia-Thailand border along the Dangrek mountain.  For the Cambodia side, it is clear that if the bilateral negotiation failed, Cambodia will bring the case to UN Security Council and/or to ICJ.

Now it is not the case of Preah Vihear temple alone, but the case of other border disputes such as at Ta Moan temple, and sea border of Koh Kong province of Cambodia and Trat province of Thailand. The border dispute is not about territory but about the conflicts of interests. The temples bring with tourism development and trade, and the border sea brings with revenue from oil and gas. Thus, it is very important that the border dispute be solved internationally and to be sure that the two countries will never meet this cycle historical dispute from time to time.

The UN or International Court could help make to ease military tension as soon as possible and make clear that all border disputes are solved peacefully and will never occur again.
