Cambodia and Thailand will again talk bilaterally to find solution over military tension at Preah Vihear temple on Monday 28 July 2008 in Siem Reap province, Cambodia. It is the second talk, after the first talk on 21 July failed.

Cambodia and Thailand are seen to take the border dispute negotiate bilaterally and peacefully, but if the talk fail again, Cambodia will ask the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to solve this issue. If no fruitful and acceptable results at this UNSC, Cambodia will file the case to the International Court of Justice, the court which Cambodia won Thailand in 1962 over the Preah Vihear temple.

Now, it is the time Thailand has to withdraw its troops from Keo Sekha Kiri Svarak pagoda, near the Preah Vihear temple and let the mixed border committee between Cambodia and Thailand talk together to find the solution. If not, the two sides may placed soldiers at the border and will make the situation worse. And then, which country will get benefits and which country will loss? It is hard to say, but all can see that Cambodia and Thailand will loss respectively. It will strongly effect on the economy. International trade will be less than before, number of tourists to the two countries will be less in number, Cambodian and Thai investors will not try to invest in Cambodia and Thailand, foreign investors see that there is no stability and peace in the two countries and they will not try to invest in these two countries.

Today, Thailand has its economic problems. Thailand has had experiences in good economy and Thais are living in civilization and if the economy is bad and there is not peace, Thai people will badly effect and their lives will be worse off. Thailand has many enemies with its neighboring countries. Thailand is facing with people power, made by opposition party and threat of military forces. Thailand has had fighting at its southern provinces, where Muslim people want to separate from the government. Many ethnicity groups in Thailand will take the war time as the opportunity to separate from Thailand and create states. From time to time, Thailand will get worse and become a weak country. Thailand gains nothing from waging war with Cambodia. Thailand gains nothing from making border trouble with Cambodia.

Thus, it is important that Thailand has to soften its position and withdraw its troops as soon as possible. That is a good solution. If so, Cambodia and Thailand could have good relations and will gain economic benefits from it.
