Last week I went to a commune of Chikreng district, Siem Reap province, I saw that trees at forests were cut and transported by cow cards to sell to traders. This kind of action is done almost everyday. Though it is small activities, but from day to day, forest will be clear.

I asked people there and they said trees were cut and transported not only in the morning, but also in afternoon and at night. At each villager’s house, cut trees are stored and will be sold if people want to buy. A cow card of tree was of 40,000 Cambodian Riels.

That is the case I saw, and I do not know about the action of tree cut at other places. Recently, Samdech Hun Sen just announced to stop providing license for companies which cut tree illegally.
