Cambodia’s National Election Scheduled 27 July 2008
Cambodia is going to held another democratic election for national assembly which will form a government to lead the country. This election is scheduled on Sunday 27 July 2008, already announced by the Prime Minister, Samdech Akkak Mohasena Padei Decho Hun Sen. Based on this, the National Election Committee (NEC) has planned detail schedule and inform all government authorities and stakeholders to help the election process conducted smoothly.

Today, there is about 50 political parties registered at Ministry of Interior. However, it is expected that there will be about 20 parties will join the election and among them only about five parties are reported very active and may have seats in the national assembly. Those parties are Cambodian’s People Party, Sam Rainsy Party, Funcinpec Party, Norodom Ranaridh Party, and Human Right Party. CPP is expected to be a leading party which may win majority, SRP is at second level. For the third, fourth and the fifth is not sure yet. They are very competitive.
