Playing Card As A Normal Practice During Khmer New Year?
People play games during Khmer New Year and this is a concern of the government and society while it is normally seen that the playing card brings along with thief, rob and other social disorder. The government, especially at sub-national levels, always take this into serious account. Youki is a game which the government, as example, in Ratanakiri, took measure to curb down. However, as the country is developing with the influence of globalization, I have noticed that there is rarely games such as Apong, Khla Khlok, etc. in Phnom Penh as what I saw this before, during 1990s. Seeing this, I think that is good one.
During the Khmer New Year, I shot a picture of a group of people at countryside playing card.

However, I still noticed that playing card among family members and relatives is still done and become almost a normal practice among Cambodians. Playing card like this does not effect the society and social security as the volume of such playing card is small and its purpose is just for entertainment or happiness. However, this is not encouraged.
